FAQs
Billing
When will I receive my invoice?
Cellhire will charge the customer’s credit for the contract price of the purchase plan in advance. Additional invoicing will occur only if and when calls have been placed or received. In these instances Cellhire will produce an invoice for call charges and will charge the invoice amount to the customer’s credit card. The first invoice may or may not reflect all calls made. Due to varying service level agreements with different wireless carriers, some call charges may take up to 60 days to be billed and will appear on subsequent invoices.
Is there a cancellation fee?
If the order is cancelled before the order has shipped, no cancellation fee will be imposed. However, if the equipment has already shipped, an administrative fee is applicable. Cancellation fees are dependent on service. Please call Cellhire for specific cancellation charges.
How do I renew my contract?
Cellhire will contact each customer 60 days prior to the end date of their contract. The customer will be informed that Cellhire will charge their credit card an amount equal to the then current one year renewal rate unless the customer notifies Cellhire of their intent not to renew.
Delivery and Collection
How is equipment delivered?
Cellhire uses delivery companies such as United Parcel Service and FedEx® for most shipments. In cities where same-day deliveries are available, Cellhire may use an in-house messenger or courier service.
Is overnight priority delivery available?
Yes, priority overnight delivery is available for an additional charge. For priority overnight delivery charges, please refer to the rental charges matrix of each service.
Is Saturday delivery available?
Saturday delivery is available for an additional charge to most US destinations. For Saturday delivery charges, please refer to the rental charges matrix of each service.
Can my phone be delivered to an airport?
Due to security reasons, Cellhire can not deliver to airports.
Does the delivery have a guaranteed time?
Unless otherwise requested, deliveries will be shipped by ground service. Earlier deliveries such as overnight and two-day are available upon request. If services other then standard delivery are requested, additional fees are applicable.
Coverage
Where will I have coverage?
Coverage varies by service. Cellhire’s
my Europe and my World plans offer coverage in 140+ countries throughout Europe, Asia (including Japan and Korea), Africa, Australia and the Middle East. Cellhire is a service provider of various wireless carriers around the world and can unfortunately never guarantee coverage.
Am I billed for every call?
Yes, you will be billed for every attempted call. As with all cellular services, the possibility of dropped and disconnected calls exists. Unfortunately, Cellhire can not be liable for these interruptions in service.
What is the difference between my Europe and my World?
My Europe is designed for those customers who travel primarily to Europe – the plan offers low European call rates and slightly higher rates for calls placed and received outside of Europe. The My World plan is designed for those customers who travel either worldwide or specifically outside of Europe – the plan offers slightly higher European call rates than My Europe but reduced call rates for the rest of the world.
Handsets
How do I place domestic and international calls?
Cellhire provides complete calling instructions with every handset purchase.
How do I charge my equipment?
The purchase phones include batteries and wall chargers which enable the customer to charge the phone prior to leaving the United States. The wall chargers included in Cellhire purchase phones are 110/240v chargers, meaning they will work in most countries throughout the world without the need for a power converter. The phones do not include charging adapters which enable the user to plug their charger into foreign outlets. Cellhire offers a Travel Adaptor Kit for purchase on its web site.
What is the difference between the FREE Nokia dual-band phone and the Motorola Quad-band phone?
The FREE Nokia phone offered by Cellhire is a dual-band handset that operates on 900/1800 MHz frequencies in over 140 countries around the world. Since most GSM networks around the world operate on either a 900 or 1800 MHz frequency the Nokia phone will suit most travelers. There are however other GSM networks that operate on 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies (particularly in the Americas) so the Nokia phone offered by Cellhire will not work on these networks. The Motorola phone offered by Cellhire is a Quad-band phone, meaning it will operate on any of the 850/900/1800/1900 GSM networks around the globe.
Does Cellhire offer a money back guarantee?
Yes. Simply return the equipment within 30 days from date of purchase and receive a full refund, no questions asked … although in the interest of striving to provide quality service we may ask anyway just so we understand why the customer was dissatisfied! All equipment must be in its original packaging and in like-new condition. Refunds will be held for ninety days after receipt in order to ensure all calls that may have been made during the 30 day period have invoiced. The customer is responsible for all airtime usage prior to the phone being received by Cellhire.
