Can you explain why I'm using my SIM but my phone book is not transferring over to my Cellhire phone?

Your contacts need to be saved onto your current SIM in order for them to transfer to your Cellhire phone. If your current phone has the option to save your phonebook/contacts to the SIM card, the phone book will not carry across to the Cellhire phone.
Please contact your current Service Provider or refer to your manual to see if this option is available on your phone.

I have a Docomo phone, how do I activate Voicemail once in Japan?

Dial 1411 + send

I have a Docomo phone, how do I change the Voicemail into English?

Dial 1458 + send

I have a Docomo phone, how do I set the standard personal greeting?

Dial 1416 + send.
Enter 9, 2, 1, 3 and press * * (HLD) button.

I have a Docomo phone, how do you master reset the phone?

Press F (using silver key on the left) then press 4 5.
Select Yes and enter Lock No: 1234 and all should reset.

I am unable to make or receive calls while roaming with the Korean handset.

If you have a signal (Name of network should be appearing across the standby screen) and can not call out, the trouble may be incorrect dialing patterns. Ensure you are dialing correctly by following the link.

On what frequencies can the Korean Handset work?

The Korean handset works on 2.5G CDMA 1x frequencies.

Push the 'Menu' button.
Scroll to 'Select Tones', Press 'Select'.
Scroll to "Ring Tone", press 'Select'.
Scroll to 'Normal Tone' and Buzzer/SE or Melody should be selected.
Select the desired tone. Push the 'Menu' button.
Scroll to 'Select Tones', Press 'Select'.
Scroll to "Select Volume", press 'Select'.
Scroll to 'Ring Volume' and make sure any # between 4 to 6 is selected.
Do not select "Steptone". Push the 'Menu' button.
Scroll to 'Select Tones', Press 'Select'.
Scroll to "Vibrator", press 'Select'.
'Off' should be selected.
Note: If the above steps do not deactivate the vibrate mode, then perform a master reset.

When I received the phone, the language was in English, how can I switch it to Japanese?

Push the 'Menu' button.
Scroll to 'Font/call', Press Select (Option 3).
Scroll to 'Font', press 'Select' (Option 1).
Scroll to 'Set Language' (Option 6).
Select the Japanese logo.

Push the 'Menu' button.
Scroll to 'Font/call', Press Select (Option 3).
Scroll to 'Font', press 'Select' (Option 1).
Scroll to 'Set Language' (Option 6).
Select English.

How do I set the system channel?

Press F (using silver key on left) then press 9 4.
Select the country mode you require by pressing the down arrow on the scroll pad.
Then select SYSTEM by pressing silver button on the right.
Select 'A' system by pressing Menu OK twice.

I have a signal but I am unable to make or receive a call?

Make sure you have at least three signal bars and are dialing correctly.

The "SIM Blocked" message no longer displays on the screen. How will I be able to input the PUK code assigned to the SIM to unlock the SIM?

In order to input the PUK code for the SIM card.
Type in the following sequence: star, star, 05, star (**05*).

The wrong PIN code was inputted for the phone and now the SIM is blocked, how can I unblock the SIM?

To protect you in the event of theft, the SIM card is immediately locked if someone keys in three different incorrect PIN codes in succession. The message "PIN locked" will appear on the screen. In this event, you can fall back on the PUK code, which comprises eight digits.
Enter this code in order to unlock your mobile phone, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Note: If you are using your own SIM card from your original phone, please contact your service provider. If you are using a Cellhire SIM card, please contact Global Support.

What do I do if the phone says Check Card?

When this error message displays on the screen, there could be one of two resolutions:
The SIM card is not inserted correctly, in which case remove the SIM card and re-insert SIM or the SIM card is not connecting with the phone, in which case remove the SIM card, wipe the gold contacts and re-insert SIM.
If this does not resolve the problem, the equipment will need to be replaced.

What do I do if the phone says Unregistered SIM?

When this error message displays on the screen, there could one of two resolutions:
Either there is an issue with the SIM and it needs to be replaced. Remove the SIM card and wipe the gold contacts and re-insert SIM

What is international roaming?

International roaming is the ability to make and receive calls, text messages, e-mails and access the Internet while traveling inside or outside of your home country.
Cellhire has agreements with networks all over the world to make calling while overseas as easy as calling while at home.

I am unable to make or receive calls while roaming with the Global Passport handset.

On what frequencies can the Global Passport work?

The Global Passport handset works on CDMA One frequencies.
A single Global Passport will enable you to make and receive domestic and international calls within Japan and South Korea.
